Strike at EMT and Metro de Madrid this Friday, December 13: minimum services and lines affected
Madrid lives on Friday December 13 a new day of strike of 24 hours in the buses of the EMT and Metro de Madrid, so it is expected a complicated day for mobility in the capital coinciding with the last day of the Summit of the Weather.
The Madrid City Council has established minimum services between 40 and 50% in the entire EMT bus network and 30% in the municipal crane service. As in previous strikes, the unions demand an immediate increase in the workforce and measures to increase the quality of the service, in addition to the firm commitment not to privatize the EMT service. The unions will give truce for Christmas and will not call for new mobilizations until last January 5. Apart from the strike, a demonstration is called at 6:00 pm that will depart from Plaza de España through Gran Vía to Plaza de Cibeles. It is expected that workers from Metro de Madrid will join.
