Metro workers in Madrid strike as services affected in Spanish capital
Metro workers in Madrid, Spain continue their strike on Friday (December 13) as minimum services will be affected in the Spanish capital.
The Madrid City Council has established minimum services between 40 and 50% in the entire EMT bus network and 30% in the municipal crane service. As in previous strikes, the unions demand an immediate increase in the workforce and measures to increase the quality of the service, in addition to the firm commitment not to privatize the EMT service. The unions will give truce for Christmas and will not call for new mobilizations until last January 5. Apart from the strike, a demonstration is called at 6:00 pm that will depart from Plaza de España through Gran Vía to Plaza de Cibeles. It is expected that workers from Metro de Madrid will join.
