A lamb has been raiding a child care centre in rural India to steal food from children.

The adorable incident has been reported from an ‘anganwadi’ or rural child care centre in Pinchabania village in Balasore district in eastern India.

The centre’s workers cook food for children and then have to stand guard outside with a stick in hand. If they let down the vigil a bit, the lamb sneaks in and starts eating from the plates.

The giggling children then draw their attention and the workers chase away the rogue lamb.

The children say the lamb loves cucumber and always goes for it first.

A woman worker at the anganwadi said: “It has become a routine now. Kids are noisy and divert our attention. The lamb waits for the right opportunity and strikes.”
