Riau Regional Police have failed international smuggling, 4 leopards and 1 leopard
Riau Regional Police revealed the wildlife trade network. Evidence was secured, including 4 cubs and 1 leopard.
"In addition to 4 lion cubs and leopards, there are 58 Indian tortoises. All the confiscated evidence is endangered species protected by the world body," Riau Police Chief Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi told a news conference at Kasangkulim Zoo in Siak District. Hulu, Kampar Regency, borders Pekanbaru
Agung explained that his party also named two people suspects. Both have the initials Y and S, who are citizens of Pekanbaru.
"We secure these two suspects in Pekanbaru when they brought evidence from Dumai. They claimed they would bring it to Lampung," Agung said.
According to him, transporting from Dumai, the suspect brought a lion cub, leopard, and a turtle by car. In the car found a can of milk powder.
"Milk powder is for the benefit of giving milk to cubs and leopards. Because these lions and leopards are still chicks," Agung said.
The police will uncover the wildlife trade mafia network to who ordered the animals. These smuggled animals from Malaysia enter the waters of Dumai, Riau.
"They are like a drug mafia network that uses disconnected networks. We will reveal all of this," said Agung.
