Rookie driver steps on accelerator mistaking it for brake, plunges car into river; miraculously survives in central India

Three youngster escape mishap after a driver hits the accelerator instead of brakes, diving into a waterbody in central India.

The incident took place on December 12 on Salpura bridge in Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh.

Visuals show the passengers on board escaping by swimming to the shore while the four-wheeler stays afloat.

A large number of locals gathered at the spot as onlookers swing into action by pulling the car to the shore with the help of earthmover.

According to the reports, a group of three friends were learning how to drive when the driver upon noticing a hut tries to hit the brakes.

However, the driver accelerated the car instead of hitting the brakes as he rammed the four-wheelers into an elderly man in the hut.

After injuring the man, identified as Mishrilal, the driver lost control and dived the car straight into a waterbody.

The police officials are investigating the matter while the injured man is reportedly admitted to the local hospital.
