This is the adorable moment a little boy obsessed with pirates picked up baby Jesus' basket at a Christmas nativity - and cried, "land ahoy!"

Video shows Charlie Hill, aged four, sat wearing a Santa hat centre-stage with his schoolmates, playing Joseph in the nativity.

Excited at being watched by his mum Ashleigh Garland, 27, he can be seen grinning from ear to ear as he gets carried away and becomes a pirate.

At one point, Charlie is handed a blue notepad and talks to his teachers during the songs, imagining he's reading a treasure map.
