Waggling their floppy ears, elephants arrive at the annual rejuvenation camp for the 48 days long relaxation period in southern India.

The camp started on December 15 in the Thekkampatti village of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

Visuals show elephants arriving at the rejuvenation camp, attracting onlookers to capture their entrance on their devices.

Next, the elephants can be seen relaxing and eating on the premises of the camp.

Later, the forest guards can be seen handing over necessary equipment to the volunteers and officials, who are responsible for safeguarding the pachyderms.

Finally, the guards can be seen taking up their places to carry on with their task.

Organised by Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE), the 12th annual rejuvenation elephant camp plays host to 28 elephants from various temples in the state.

During this period the elephants would be put on a special diet based on their age and weight.

Special attention would be paid on their grooming and in maintaining a relaxing atmosphere for the pachyderms.

Forest department has set up 8 watchtowers and routine inspection by forest guards along with the anti-poaching team on the premises.
