Horrific footage shows minor girl getting caught in crossfire as cops open fire to scare away violent protesters in western India
Protests against the newly passed citizenship amendment act are turning violent by the day across India. This footage from Vadodara in the western Indian state of Gujarat shows the horrific moment when a minor girl got caught in the crossfire.
As protesters turned violent and attacked the cops, the men in uniform opened fire to scare them away. Though there were no casualties in this particular encounter, at least five people were killed in firing in different parts of India in police firing today (December 20).
Visuals show police officials shooting tear gas shells at angry mob as the situation gets out of hand.
The official when unable to scare the crowd with tear gas bombs resort to shooting fires at the protesters.
He is immediately joined by another fellow officer but the mob starts pelting stones at the officials in retaliation.
The officers are seen hiding behind car doors for shelter in spite of wearing anti-raiding suits and strong headgears.
In order to control the situation, the government has ordered the shutdown of telecommunication facilities in various parts of the country.
