An empty gas tank foiled a robbery attempt after one of the staff threw it to the suspect as they tried to escape.

A man carrying a gun entered a convenience store in Norzagaray, Bulacan, the Philippines on August 29, posing as a customer. After making sure that the owner was alone, he started to declare a robbery.

He asked the owner who was handling the cash register at the time to put all the money in a bag. The owner refused and struggled, prompting the robber to shoot her.

The gun shot caught the attention of the gas tank delivery guy who was then inside the shop bringing the orders.

The robber tried to flee with the bag of money, but the delivery guy came out and incapacitated him with an empty gas tank. The still-unknown robber died on the spot because of the heavy blow to the head.

The police are still looking for his accomplice who stayed outside serving as his lookout.

The mayor of Norzagary has offered a reward of 100,000 pesos (2,000 dollars) to any person who can give information on the identity of the suspects.

He said: ‘’This was a violent armed robbery and more than one person was involved. It is important that we have all of the information needed to catch everyone who planned it.’’
