A line of ambulances was seen outside Almaty airport in Kazakhstan on Friday (December 27) after a passenger jet carrying nearly 100 people crashed, killing at least 15 people.

Kazakh authorities said the aircraft was heading to the capital Nur-Sultan when it lost altitude during the takeoff.

In Kazakhstan, in the Almaty region, near the village of Kyzyltu, the Fokker-100 plane of Bek Air airline, on board of which there were 100 people, lost altitude and crashed into a two-story house under construction. Killed 12 people, including the aircraft commander and journalist of one of the Kazakhstan information portals. 49 people are considered injured. There were no Russians on board. The flight followed from Almaty to Nur-Sultan.

Fokker-100 type flights in Kazakhstan, as well as the operation of Bek Air, have been suspended. A criminal case was opened on the fact of the crash of the liner.
