A high-speed railway line connecting Beijing and Zhangjiakou, the two cities co-hosting the 2022 Winter Olympics, went into service on December 30.

It will chop two hours and 20 minutes off the current rail journey, reducing it to a 47-minute hop, taking passengers at a top speed of 350 kmph (220 mph).

Footage, captured in Beijing at 8:30 am on December 30, shows the packed train on its way to Taizicheng Station in Hebei Province from Beijing North Railway Station.
