The world's first "Marine Cemetery", made out of single-use plastic bottles, has opened at Beypore Beach in Kerala, India on December 4.

On the gravestones situated on the seashore of Beypore, the photographs of eight endangered species are displayed.

The "Marine Cemetery" aims to spread awareness about the devastating effects of single-use plastic, pollution, and overfishing.

To spread awareness about the harmful effects of single use plastics ,overfishing ,polluting in rivers ,world's first ever Marine Cemetery made up of plastic bottles built on Beypore beach in Kozhikode in Kerala .It was inaugurated on December 4 .
The cemetery pays tribute to endangered eight marine species like seahores , parrotfish ,leatherback turtles ,eagle rays,sawfish ,dugong ,zebra shark , hammerhead fish are part of the list .
This cemetery is dedicated to above mentioned species which are slowly going extinct ,owing to plastic polluting.
This marine Cemetery consist of 9 gravestones with a tombstone made of iron frame and plastic body has the names of the soon to be extinct or critically endangered aquatic life on them .
