Presence of mind of the driver averted a disaster when a curious elephant decided to chase a safari jeep in Rajaji Tiger Reserve located in the northern state of Uttarakhand.

The incident took place on January 2 in the Chilla range of the tiger reserve.

The visuals captured by the escort aboard the jeep show the energetic mammoth chase the vehicle for a short distance.

The bumbling beast is seen trying to cover the distance between the automobile as the driver quickly navigates an escape route.

According to the reports, the forest ranger describes this as usual phenomena when animals try to follow tourist vehicles.

The forest drivers are trained on how to control the situation when such incidents occur; they also carry sonic guns which drives the beasts away.
