Refugee leader in court on assault charges

JP Balous, leader of the refugees whoi have been staying in the Cape Town Methodist church has appeared in the Cape Town Magistrates court after charges of assault was laid against him by fellow refugees.

The refugees are claiming that his leadership style is questionable and that he rules them with an iron fist to a point where thise who do not adhere are beaten up.

Subsequently they have been split into two groups, one supporting JP Balous and the second supporting Papy Sukami.

Earlier this week violent clashes broke out between the two groups and those supporting Papy Sukami have been forced to sleep on the sidewalk surrounding the church
