A security camera has captured the moment a biker slammed into the barrier at a level crossing in western India.

In the clip, which was filmed at the railway crossing in Udvada near Valsad on January 2, the unidentified rider tries to sneak beneath the descending boom barrier but smashes straight into it and falls to the ground.

He was not injured in the incident, according to a railway official who also urged commuters to be patient at level crossings.

The rider tried to sneak past as a boom barrier came down at a railway crossing in Udvada in near Valsad in western India on January 2.

A CCTV camera operated by Indian Railways shows the boom barrier coming down to block vehicles and let a train pass.

The rider tries to squeeze through before the barrier descends but gets his timing wrong and ends up crashing into it. The man, who has not been identified, quickly recovered and got back to his feet and waited for the train to pass.

An Indian railway official said the rider’s helmet took the impact of the accident and spared him of injuries. He also urged people to show patience at railways crossings.
