Stargazer captures timelapse of Quadrantids meteor shower in UK's Wiltshire

West Kennet Long Barrow, near Avebury, Wiltshire, UK. 3Rd / 4th January 2020. Time-lapse footage records a meteor passing across the north eastern sky above the West Kennet Long Barrow near Avebury in Wiltshire before cloud stopped play. The annual Quadrantids meteor shower radiate from the constellation Bootes, but can appear anywhere in the sky. The Quadrantids is an above average shower, with up to 40 meteors per hour at its peak. It is thought to be produced by dust grains left behind by an extinct comet known as 2003 EH1, which was discovered in 2003. The West Kennet Long Barrow, is a chambered long barrow constructed during Britain's Early Neolithic period. Several cremations and the remains of at least 46 humans, both male and female and of all ages, have been found inside, together with grave goods including pottery, beads and stone implements such as a dagger, dated to between 3000 and 2600 BC.
