An Indian man is in search of a cure for the bubble-like tumours that ravage his body; he has revealed how people treat him worse than a 'dirty stray animal'. Diwakar Bisoye, 65 years, from Odisha State, India, nicknamed the "Bubble Skin Man," started growing small lumps on his body initially, and since then his body has slowly been ravaged by benign tumours. Now, they cover his entire body. His horrible condition has taken over his life; he rarely leaves his house and when he does he is forced to cover his face with a balaclava for fear of frightening or being ridiculed by others.
Desperate for help, the 65-year-old can't go public to work with his condition as he sits idle anytime because he believes he can work hard but his looks are a problem to other people. No one likes looking at him or being near me. It's ruined his life. "People mock, ridiculed me directly and they do stare at me and avoid me. Most people act very strangely around me. No one likes looking at me or being near to me. People think I will infect everything. Many landlords don't want me living in their property or ask me to leave when people complain about my condition. This leads me to remain jobless for past 15 years" Diwakar Bisoye explains.
Diwakar Bisoye lives with his wife and son who work as a daily labour. Diwakar Bisoye uses to run the family, but for from 15 years, he is facing a Bubble Skin problem, which before he was happily working as a farmer. Diwakar Bisoye carries 25 kg Tumour (A disease in which abnormal cells divide uncontrollably and destroy body tissue) and thousands of bubbles have spread in his body.
Doctors in his place told Diwakar the tumours were benign, possibly caused by a genetic disorder brought on by abnormalities in his nervous system, and there is no treatment in the place where he stays at an isolated village in Odisha State. While the lumps don't appear to be life-threatening, they are uncomfortable. But the doctors from the different part of the country comment on this rare disease.
Dr Subramania Iyer, professor Plastic & reconstructive surgery, of Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kerala say "This is a case of multiple neurofibromatosis which means that these nodules arise from nerves traversing the body. This is a hereditary genetic disorder and has at present no medical treatment. The only solution is the surgical removal of most troublesome swellings. Considering his extensive numbers this may have to be done in stages,"
