This was the moment an adorable wild fawn trotted up to a girl and greeted her in Long Pond, Pennsylvania.

The curious baby deer is spotted running, unfazed, over to Wren Kraebel from the other side of the field before it starts sniffing and licking her.

Kraebel told Newsflare: "During a family vacation 4 years ago, this young fawn approached and befriended some of the people in the area while it was waiting for its mother.

"This is a unique experience as it has never happened to me before and I haven't experienced anything similar since.

"I was really astounded and amazed that the fawn was this comfortable with humans to be confident enough to approach me and start sniffing and even giving me nuzzles of camera.

"I will say that the fawn had been hanging around the family for a few hours at this point but this was the first time she had approached someone on her own volition."

This encounter happened in July 2016.
