A plumber only wearing his underwear was captured battling with the cold conditions while trying to repair a broken fire hydrant.

The video was filmed in the city of Hangzhou in eastern China's Zhejiang Province on January 12.

A car crashed into the fire hydrant and broke, causing water to burst out of it.

The plumber, named only as Sun, and his two other workmates went on-site to repair the fire hydrant.

In order to fix the fire hydrant as soon as possible and because he didn't want his clothes to get wet, Sun took off his clothes and trousers to go into the water column to try to turn off the valve but failed.

Sun then used a plank against the water column so he could approach the valve for water supply.

After around half an hour, he finally switched the valve off and was able to repair the fire hydrant.

视频中的人是区水务公司供水抢修人员孙惠宏。1月12日中午，浙江杭州鹿山街道龙江路山水御园北门沿街商铺门口一个消防栓被车辆撞断，导致大量自来水瞬间喷涌冲出，路面上满是积水。区水务公司热线电话96390接到抢修电话后，孙师傅和其他两个同事立即前往现场处置。这段视频，是孙师傅进行带水作业试图关闭阀门时，同事在现场拍下的。

孙师傅回忆，他赶到现场时，消防栓已经整个折断了，水柱喷得“有两层楼那么高”。撞消防栓的是一辆黑色奔驰轿车，车头有明显撞击的痕迹，驾驶员是男性，“也不知道究竟怎么撞的。”凭借经验孙师傅判断，底下埋着的应该是一根直径500mm接300mm的水管，如果关闭远处的总阀门，可能影响到周边好几个小区的正常用水。




为了尽快抢修，孙师傅决定带水作业。冒着严寒，他迅速脱下衣服裤子，猛地扎进水柱中，凭经验摸索阀门。可因为水压实在太大，尝试几次都没成功，他又就近找来了块木板压水。多方共同努力了半小时，消防栓的供水阀门终于被关闭。擦干一身的水，孙师傅又和同事们一块破开了地面的水泥地坪，对消防栓进行及时修复。

而当天最低气温只有1℃。
