Sanitation workers in south India emptied trash from a dumpster into a garbage collection truck only to find an allegedly drunk man had fallen in too, having gone to sleep in the dumpster.

The man had passed out in tthe dumpster in Mandi Mohalla area of Mysore city, Karnataka on the early hours of December 25, 2019.

Sanitation workers lifted the dumpster with a trolley and emptied the contents, including the man, into the garbage collection truck.

A passerby noticed the feet of the man, which was jutting out of the garbage, and told the sanitation workers.

The workers panicked, thinking the man had died, and quickly got him out of the truck. They were relieved to find that the man was alive but seemingly very drunk.

They cleaned him up and called an ambulance to shift him to the government-owned K R Hospital, where he was given first aid and discharged.
