Multiple Avalanches have caused major delays in opening the Kargil to Drass in northern India yesterday (January 16).

The road on NH 1D from Kargil to Drass is prone to many avalanches and the snow-covered roads cause huge delays.

These avalanches acts as an obstacle for the early clearance of the road and traffic movement.

Traffic officers worked till 10 pm and doing their best to resume movement on this road.

The road on NH 1D from Kargil to Drass is witness to many avalanches and the Snow coevered roads and the huge avalanches on them reminds us of Zojilla.
These avalanches also acts as an obstacle for the early clearance of the road and traffic movement still Project vijayak of BRO is working till 10 pm and doing their best to resume traffic on this road.
*Continuous avalanches with a height of 10-15 feet can be observed at Thanda mod location, shimsha village location, kharbu location and chhanigund location of the Kargil Drass road stretch.
The Project has deployed it best men and machinery on Job and will soon resume the traffic for the benefit of the Local People.
