Firefighters in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania battle an intense fire in single-digit temperatures while working to contain and control a 3rd alarm commercial building fire at a former garment manufacturing.

Shenandoah Fire Marshal Rick Examitas said "everyone is evacuated from [the area], but right now, our concern is because of the wind and the water supply, Everybody is accounted for at this point. There are no injuries reported at this time, and as far as we know, everyone is out of the building."

In single digit temperatures Firefighters from four counties are working to contain and control a 4th alarm commercial building fire at the former garment manufacturing.

Shenandoah Fire Marshal Rick Examitas said "We're trying to keep the fire contained from running up Bower" "We're concerned about it going up on Bower Street to the homes that are lived in there" "Everyone is evacuated from the Bower Street side, but right now, that's our concern because of the wind and the water supply,"


"Everybody is accounted for at this point. There's no injuries reported at this time, and as far as we know, everyone is out of the building,"


Water supply issues continued during this incident due to the both weather condition and the volume needed to contain this fire. So multiple tanker task forces were established with multiple fill sites. The local school district issued a 2 hour delay due to use of a fire hydrant on school property.

PP & L also lowered the power grid in the area effecting 655 homes until around noon.
