A giant avalanche hurtled down a mountainside close to a village (January 18th) in northern India on Saturday.

Footage showed a huge cloud of snow sliding down a steep area of woodland near Ribba village in Himachal Pradesh.

No injuries were reported, according to local media.

The locals of a small village located at the foot of Himalayas experienced a terrifying moment when a giant avalanche slide down the mountain in the north Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.

The incident took place on January 18 in a small village of Ribba located in the state's Kinnaur district.

Visuals show the snow slide down the mountain taking the form of an avalanche within few seconds.

Footage also shows the icefall slowing covering the landscape in a fresh coat of white in it's wake.

According to the reports,no injuries were reported as the locals had evacuated to a higher ground when the disaster took place.
