Shocking footage shows large hailstones battering the Sydney suburb of Miranda after a storm hit the city on January 20.

Footage shows the before and after the storm as the filmer's back garden was peppered with the ice balls.

All videos were filmed on my iPhone 11 whilst I was sheltering inside my residence and later stitched together into this video.

I filmed these videos today as this was the largest stormcell that I have ever seen roll in to Sydney, NSW and also so that I could show the ferocity of the storm to other members of my family as they were not home at the time. I filmed the footage as the storm rolled in (the before footage is actually shot during the first wave of the storm which missed my property) and then as the severe second wave rolled in. These were at 3:16 pm and 5:11 pm respectively on the 20th January 2020 (AEDT). This was all shot at my suburban property in Miranda, located in the Sutherland Shire, NSW, Australia. This is a strong contrast to the intense bushfire smoke and heat we have been experiencing recently. I shot this video exclusively on my iPhone 11, mostly by sticking my hand outside whilst the storm raged on. The car with a branch fallen on it was outside the front of my property. The car was damaged however the driver did not want it filmed in detail. The house was undamaged. I
