Wounded bat found in central India and released into the wild after treatment
Adil Khan, a young mechanical engineer from Sarni, Madhya Pradesh, India who is working for nature and wildlife conservation, recently got a rescue call from localized people of his hometown Sarni.
When he arrived at rescue site, he surprisingly found a little bat lying on garden. He noticed that due to some problem bat is unable to fly, after that he decided to rescue bat with proper procedure and precautions.
Then he Contacted veterinary doctors and other activist who work for wildlife and nature conservation to identify the bat. Finally after two-three hours a activist from Anuppur Madhya Pradesh Sanjay Payaasi confirmed the identity of bat as Tickells Bat, Which is rare and uncommon.
Adil told us that Tickells bat ( Hesperoptenus Tickelli ) is a species of vesper bat. It is microbat only 7c.m long, Tickells bat have soft and dense fur. Digits of hands and feet are pinkish and the membrane between them is blackish. They consist tail which is enclosed in an interfemoral membrane. These bats are insectivores which means they feed on insects, they rely mainly on echolocation to navigate and obtain food.
They roost in caves, hollow trees, animals borrows or other form of shelter. On the same evening Adil released that tickells bat at rescue site.
Adil told us Sarni is a town situated near satpura tiger reserve and besides satpura melghat tiger corridor, so we found so many rare or uncommon animals, reptiles etc in our area.
