Droughts may have ravaged rivers across Thailand but lower water levels have turned this mountain stream into a popular attraction.

Footage from Monday (Jan 20) morning shows children enjoying playing on the newly-exposed rocks at the waterfall in Trang, southern Thailand.

Wildlife ranger Juree Kongkarn said normally the water level is high and too dangerous to wade through.

But a lack of rain has caused the water to drop and expose the rocks, which has attracted local children to the area to play.

She said: "The rocks are normally submerged under water but the drought has caused the water level to lower since there was no rain in the last two months.

"However, the lower water level instead drew more attention from the children because of the sweltering and they were not allowed to play under the normal circumstances."
