Two adorable pet squirrels wear red costumes as they join in with Chinese New Year celebrations.

The four-year-old rodents, named Jiewjeed and Dutdao, wore the handmade silk dresses at the home in Samut Sakhon, central Thailand, today (Jan 23).

Owner Nisachon Teangthum made the red and gold oriental dresses for her cherished pets to celebrate the Lunar New Year, which heralds the coming Year of the Rat in the Chinese calendar.

Nisachon said: “My little girls look stunning in their bright red dresss. They are ready for the Chinese New Year.''
