With dropping mercury levels and heavy snowfall hitting the northern region of the country, winter tourism has risen in the list of globetrotters this year.
Taking advantage of the very fact, entrepreneurs Tashi and Vikas from the north Indian state of Himachal Pradesh have come up with their unique set of hospitality.
Dubbed as the Country’s first igloo stay, the Sethan village located in the state’s Hamta valley(Manali district) draws hordes of visitors during the month of mid-January to March every year.
Visuals show the holidaymakers enjoy themselves surrounded by the snow-clad mountains with igloos build adjacent to each other. With winter activities taking place in the day time, the nightlife inside the igloo village offers a unique experience of its own.
Fairy lights decorating the entrance of the ice houses and an open movie theatre creates a soothing atmosphere, the exhausted tourists couldn’t have asked for more. According to the reports, the camp is organized by Kalinga Himalayan Adventures, who offer tourists a unique experience to enjoy a night stay in an igloo.
The ‘Stay 1 night’ allow the visitors to enjoy a bonfire, barbeque meals and winter sports such as skiing and snowboarding lessons. The proud owners also describe their journey of becoming the country’s few winters –sports specialists and how these igloos are constructed and maintained.
