A new hospital with 1,000 beds has started to be built in Wuhan on January 24 to tackle the deadly coronavirus outbreak.

The video shows hundreds of diggers working at the same time to build the 25,000-square-metre hospital.

According to reports, the local government will use the previous experience of building the Xiaotangshan hospital in Beijing in 2003 to deal with SARS.

Since the medical equipment needs some time to be installed and tested, the hospital is expected to be put into use on February 3.

1月24日上午9时许，位于武汉蔡甸知音湖武汉职工疗养院，武汉版小汤山开建！现场上百台机械同时开挖。据报道，建筑面积达到2.5万平方米，可容纳1000张病床，医院将在6天内建成。据了解，武汉市政集团负责该处的道路，场地平整，排水等工程。当晚，施工车辆已经到达现场，准备施工。 由于医疗设备还需时间进行安装和调试，预计2月3日可以投入使用。

小汤山医院坐落于北京市昌平区小汤山镇。源于2003年抗击非典建设的医院。
