This is the shocking moment a rookie cop crashed his boss's pickup truck while driving it back from the garage.

Police Corporal Suppanut Norrasingha drew the short straw and was tasked with collecting the sergeant's silver Isuzu from its monthly servicing by mechanics.

But he lost control of the vehicle while he was travelling back in Ang Thong, central Thailand on Wednesday (22/01) afternoon.

Dash cam footage shows how the cop had to change lanes to avoid two cars that slowed down in front of him to make turns.

A vehicle then pulls out into his path forcing him to swerve into a concrete fence posts to avoid hitting it.

Fellow police officers arrived to investigate the scene and found both the fence destroyed and the police pickup written off.

Investigating officer Captain Jakree Phaned said they will probe the accident and ''prepare the evidence without any bias''.

He said: "The police driver was already sent back to the station for interrogation. His testimony will be checked against the dash cam footage.

"The other drivers at the scene will be interrogated as well because we wanted to gather as much information before we decide on charges."
