Commuters in Leadhills, Scotland, woke up to find their cars blanketed in snow as the Met Office issued a weather warning.

Temperatures were anticipated to drop to -4C, in the north-west of Scotland.

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning predicting ice and snow, for most of the country including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Perthshire.

Around 70 gritters were dispatched around Scotland to ensure the roads were prepared for icy weather.

This footage was filmed on January 28.
