A worn-out truck driver had to leap out of his vehicle after it flipped over while he parked on the roadside in south India.

The incident took place on January 28 in Konamedu in the city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Visuals caught on CCTV camera shows the tired driver getting out of the vehicle and going for a break. On coming back and starting the 12-wheeler, it started lurching over onto the edge of the road.

Realising what was happening, the driver climbed out just in time to avoid the fall.

Reportedly the driver was travelling from Arcot, Vellore to Ayapakkam in Chennai took a brief stop at Konamedu for a cup of tea just before the incident occurred.

The lorry and cargo was estimated to be worth 1.8 million INR (around $25,154.95 USD).

In the wake of the morning, a worn-out driver leaped out of the sand-laden lorry which toppled on the park road a few minutes after starting saving himself from the accident in Southern state of Tamil Nadu.

The alert driver senses the mishap and hence springs out on time after which the heavy goods vehicle overturned on the cemented road.

The exhausted driver traveling from Arcot, Vellore to Ayapakkam in Chennai took a brief stop at Konamedu for a cup of tea following which the incident happened.

According to the reports, the lorry was worth 18 lakhs which caved in scattering the m-sand across the pathway.
