A KFC restaurant is believed to have become the first in Britain to have installed bulletproof glass in order to protect staff from violent customers.

Earlier this week a store in Birmingham was branded as "Britain's roughest" after putting up protective security wiring to prevent workers from being attacked.

But now it has emerged a branch in Nottingham has taken an even more drastic approach with a bulletproof shield which separates staff from the public.
