This is why every tree trimmer should wear a helmet

This is the terrifying moment a 27-year-old arborist got struck by a falling tree in Lynnwood, Washington state.

In helmetcam video, a treetop is felled successfully but hits a neighbouring tree, causing it to range back towards experienced arborist Jacob Rogers.

The tree struck Rogers on his helmet and injured his arm. Luckily, Rogers was wearing his helmet.

The footage was posted to Instagram with the caption: "It hit me right on the brim of my helmet! Very thankful that I wasn’t hurt badly, this would have seriously messed me up if I weren’t wearing a helmet!"

Rogers told Newsflare: "I have been doing this for nearly 10 years and have never seen this happen.

"I was removing the top of a dead tree. The top went over and all seemed well until a neighboring tree, which has been pushed by the top so ranged back up and broke off hitting (me).

"I was sore for a few days but no major injuries."
