Firefighters free trapped cow from well in east India
A 12-year old cow was rescued by firefighters after it fell into a well in the east Indian state of Odisha.
The incident happened on February 2 near the government high school in Balikuda village.
Footage shows the cattle trapped inside a pit as the locals gather to watch the rescuers at work.
According to reports, the cow was unable to move as its leg got stuck down the well.
Due to a shortage of manpower, the head of the animal rescue organisation was later assisted by the fire department officials.
Eventually, the firefighters arrived and pulled the cow out after it had been trapped for nearly 8 hours. The operation in total took 3 hours to complete.
