Villagers from Sagadabasha in the Ganjam district of Odisha, southeast India, have designed a tap that supplies water from a far-away source without applying any electricity.

The intricate engineering is done by rural villagers who cannot afford a traditional water pump.

Instead, they raised collective funds to purchase a pipe, connecting the end to streaming water more than 2 kilometres away from their village.

One villager said: "Our extreme engineering skill is not only a slap to the administration but is also a lesson for many poor villagers."

According to the filmer, the village now has sufficient water for their daily use and they have also started growing vegetables from their supply.

The extreme engineering is done by the poor villagers who cannot buy water pump and used gravity and suction force to bring water from the water source far away from village.

They All are belongs to tribal. In this village has no water supply from the beginning.
Several times those tribals are intimated to administration for water supply to their village but administration did not listen to their application.
After several information when administration did not do than they started their own engineering for water supply from fountain streaming water.
Villagers brought authentic pipe and set the pipe from streaming water which was more than 2 kilometres far from their village. They collected stream water and storage phase by phase and ultimately they stored water in middle of the village which was again supplied through day and night. Now the villagers set an extremely extraordinary example.
A villager said, ‘our extreme engineering skill is not only a slap to the administration but is also a lesson for many poor villagers’.
Many now visits to see their engineering technique and learn from them which makes the villagers very happy.


Some of villagers saying that now we have sufficient water supply for their daily use purpose also the cultivated some vegitable from this water supply. The project cost have been collected by all villagers.
