Rare snake with size 18 inches & blackheads rescued in Southern east India.

Very beautiful and rarely available Black-head snake rescued and released. It is very small than other snake.

Black-headed snake , scientific name : Sibynophis subpunctatus is a species of non venomous snake found in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.These snakes are active by the day as well as the night. Very skinks, and smaller snakes. Maximum size is 18 inches, this snake which found on Taktpur area of Baripada town under Mayurbhanj district, Odisha.This is the first time I am recording the sighting of this beautiful snake on time of Herping trail said "Rakesh Mohalick", Wildlife Photographer. This is very beautiful snake and rarely seen to human.

This rarely available snake is usually found in deserted termite mounds or under logs and rocks. As it has a blackish head and light brown body, it cannot easily be mistaken for other snakes.
