US woman records her giant centipede meticulously grooming its antennae
A California woman managed to film her pet giant centipede grooming itself by licking its antennae.
Filmed on January 20, the footage shows the invertebrate flicking its antennae over its head and holding them in place as he licks them clean.
Emily Bryson, who filmed this, told Newsflare: "A pet giant centipede (Scolopendra Dehaani) meticulously grooms his antennae, stopping to do a little happy dance in between."
Bryson wrote online in response to comments on her Reddit post: "They have their terrifying moments, but keeping this guy has been so rewarding. I absolutely love watching him!"
It is common practice for centipedes to clean themselves after eating. They have a grooming structure near the mouth which is covered with hairs.
