Former Democratic Alliance leader, Mmusi Maimane, says his new organaistion, Movement for One South Africa (MOSA), is up against a liberation movement such as the ANC which will stick together and not split in order to hold on to resources.

Maimaine resigned as leader of the Democratic Alliance in October last year after former leader Helen Zille was elected as the head of the party’s federal council.

Herman Mashaba, then Mayor of Johannesburg, also resigned a few days after Maimaine, citing differences with Helen Zille.

The movement is founded on the principles of the Freedom Charter, and wants to focus on youth and future oriented leadership.
