Seal pup chillaxing, considering a swim but resting some more
I’m a volunteer marine mammal medic for British Divers Marine Life Rescue. I was called to assess this juvenile grey seal but he was in good health and in an area with no dogs or human traffic so I observed him from a safe distance so he could rest peacefully. When the tide came in, he went back fishing/swimming/doing what seals do.
Funnily enough the promenade was packed at the time because is was the Newbiggin-by-the-Sea park run . The seal was nicely camouflaged & a good distance from the runners though. If I recall correctly I made the video last summer
