A type of colour-shifting squid can be bought at fish markets in Vietnam, as seen in this unique video where spots of colour can be seen changing when their bodies are touched.

Video of the phenomenon, captured on January 19, in Phu Yen, shows a person removing a dead squid from a bag and lightly touching its body to trigger the colourful flashes.

This is a type of squid called "mực chớp" in Vietnamese and Bigfin Reef Squid in English . They are distributed mainly in coastal areas of Vietnam and prized as seafood in many cultures.

These squids are sold for between $15 to $20 USD per kilogram.
