Woman dies in house fire in Stoke Newington, north London

An investigation has been launched after a woman died in a house fire in north London.

Aftermath footage shows the burned-out house on Olinda Road, N16, and police on the scene.

In a statement, London Fire Brigade said: "Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a house fire on Olinda Road in Stoke Newington.

"The whole of the ground floor, staircase and first floor were destroyed by fire as well as part of the roof. Sadly one woman was found dead at the scene.

"The Brigade’s 999 Control centre received 28 calls alerting them to the fire.

"The Brigade was called 0001 and the incident was over by 0113. Fire crews from Stoke Newington, Tottenham and Holloway fire stations attended the incident.

"The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police."
