Over 10,000 students in southern Indian have attempted to break the world record for the number of people performing a classical dance at one time.

Students at the SIVET College in Gowrivakkam on February 8 performed a dance in unison to try and enter the Guinness World Records.

Over 10,000 Bharatanatyam dancers set a world record for the maximum number of people performing the classical dance form at the SIVET College in Gowrivakkam in Chennai on Saturday. The record-creating dance was performed in unison by over 10,000 dancers from various age groups. The participants broke the record set by 7190 dancers in Chidambaram in 2019. An eclectic group of 10,000 Bharatanatyam dancers from different schools, colleges and dance schools in Tamilnadu comes together to break the Guinness World Record

Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation had conducted this Bharathanatyam event with a record number of 10000 dancers. The program is titled ‘Sathir 10000’.All Bharathanatyam exponents and learners from various schools, colleges, and dance schools have been invited earnestly to join this endeavor and support this initiative to be a great grand success!. All the participants were awarded certificates from the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation.
