This stunning Caribbean-esque Boya Lake is actually located in northern Canada.

The drone footage filmed in August 2019 shows the spectacular scenery similar to what you would find in the Caribbean - but it's actually in British Columbia.

The crystal clear waters and aqua-marine lake colour are a result of the light reflecting from the marl bottom.

Aqua water, white sand beaches and sun. At first glance you would think this drone footage is shot somewhere in the Caribbean.

But a closer look and you will notice pine trees along the shore. Believe it or not, Boya lake as it is known, is located in northern British Columbia in Canada.

The lake is noted for its colour and clarity. The bottom is composed of marl, a mixture of silt and shell fragments.
