Humpback Whale rescued from Shark Nets
I came across a Humpback Whale stuck in the shark nets while I was kayak fishing off Umhlanga Rocks on 8 August 2017. I phoned the lifeguards to notify them of the entrapped Humpback Whale because I knew the whale would not be able to free itself. I filmed this with my Go Pro Hero 2 and my Samsung S5.These individuals who rescued the whale put their lives on the line, among them were employees of the KZN Lifeguards (Ross Cairns & Ant malgora) and the KZN Sharksboard (Unnamed).
