since the days of colonialism up to now the people of West Sumatra still have to maintain processing sugar cane into sugar in the traditional way, uniquely, the mill is not using a machine, but using buffalo power.
On the shoulders of buffalo is placed a piece of wood that is connected to the sugar cane grinder. The eyes of the buffalo are closed using a coconut shell and then tied with cloth, so that the buffalo obeys and continues to run around.
Maintaining this traditional way because it has historical and educational value to the next generation / because this activity is somewhat rare and unique
