Pro-Palestine groups gathered outside South Africa’s parliament on Wednesday (February 12).

Muhammed Desai, a member of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement who attended the protest, called for the South African government to take strong actions against Israel.

The protesters held banners reading "Boycott Apartheid Israel"

Pro-Palestinian groups had a Pre-SONA picket in front of South Africa’s parliament to draw the government’s attention to the plight of the Palestinian people.

The organisations included BDS, the African National Congress, The South African Communist Party as well the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU).
