Buddhists monks ride uphill on elephants to reach a temple for a mass worship event.

Hundreds of devotees walked behind the religious figures of elephants to take a sacred robe to cover a Buddha statue in the mountain temple in Phang Nga, southern Thailand last Sunday (08/02) evening.

Footage shows 29 elephants rode by the Buddhist monks were walking up the hill alongside with a procession of locals.

The 357ft high pagoda is popular among the local devotees while it also draws numerous attention from the tourists due to exquisite art inside.
