A team of rescuers on Saturday (February 15th) used ropes to haul a leopard from the bottom of a deep well.

The big cat fell into the water source in the Pavijetpur region of Gujarat state and was unable to climb out.

Rescuers from the forest department managed to place a looped rope around the feline and then lift it out of the well and into a metal cage.

The big cat was due to be checked over and released back into the wild.

According to reports, the incident happened on February 15 in the region of Pavijetpur, Chhota Udepur.

Visuals show the rescue operation undertaken by the forest department team, trying to save the big cat who struggles to come out of the well.

The officials managed to loop ropes around the leopard and heaved the leopard up followed by caging of the animal as the surrounding curious crowd of onlookers gather to witness the operation.
