A bride and a groom stopped their wedding celebrations to help an injured motorcyclist.

The newlyweds, known only as John and Sarah, were travelling from their beach ceremony to the reception when they noticed the road accident.

They immediately told their driver to pull over and help the victim in Krabi, southern Thailand on Monday (Feb 17) evening.

Footage shows how the couple gave first aid to the injured motorcyclist and helped secure his head while he was lifted onto a stretcher. They also helped secure the area and direct traffic.

Around 20 minutes later the emergency services arrived and took Cholatee Muengkerd, 21, to hospital.

Locals praised the couple for getting their special wedding outfits dirty and keeping their guests waiting at the reception.

Rescue worker Nok Rungrueng said that the intervention from the newlyweds may have prevented the rider from sustaining more injuries.

He said: ''We received the emergency call as normal but when we arrived the foreign couple were there helping the injured rider.

''They treated the victim and made the scene of the accident safe.

''I don't know who they were but they told people that they are doctors and came to Thailand for their wedding.

"They were on the way to their wedding party at the hotel but they ordered their driver to stop after they saw the man injured by an accident.

''They have good hearts and we thank them for their help.''
